Forté Dramatic Productions launches its second season with the hauntingly brilliant Jaques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. This musical revue features the songs of French songwriter Jaques Brel and explores life through a cycle of songs ranging from the comical to the profound. Jaques Brel… originally opened Off-Broadway in 1968 and was made into a film in 1975, and has enjoyed many revivals including the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway revival in 2006. With songs tackling such subjects as love, death, and sex, Jaques Brel is decidedly a show for mature audiences and offers insightful lyrics and beautiful music. Forté president, John Zimmerman, will direct and star in this production and is joined by Peter de Mets as musical director; the two have previously collaborated on Forté’s Art Isn’t Easy: A Sondheim Revue and A Very Forté Christmas. Jaques Brel runs April 11th through the 18th at the West Windsor Arts Council in West Windsor, NJ
